Mousehunt Guide for Masters

Master
Welcome to my fourth guide out of a series of Mousehunt guides. Well done! You are a Master of the game and know exactly what you are doing. Well, sort of :). By now you know how to use the travel area proficiently and have kept your stock of cheese above zero consistently, hopefully. Master is one of my favorite ranks because it is the first rank where both your money and points will start rocketing up. With the loot you collect as a Master, logs with rewards as high as 300,000 coins become possible!
What's New With Master?
As a Master, you have unlocked a few new goodies of the game. You now have access to two new areas: the Laboratory and the Great Gnarled Tree. You will also have access to a new type of trap and store. I should also mention that there are many new types of mice to be caught at the Great Gnarled Tree. That's all I can tell you for now; read on and find out the other mysteries of Master.
What You Should Do
Travel from the location you are currently at, probably Calm Clearing, and head to the Laboratory. You should stay in the Lab until you catch a Dwarf mouse that is carrying a Key to Digby. I will be honest with you, you could stay in the Laboratory until you have 100 or more Radioactive Blue Curd potions, but for now you do not need 100. For now, you do need about thirty to forty potions to complete the next step.
Once you have the potions and at least 150,000 coins, travel to the Town of Digby and buy a Sinister Portal. Now use the sinister portal and catch a Zombie mouse here that is carrying a Tattered Mousoleum map piece. You may notice that the symbol under the trap image is not a sword, this is because the sword indicates the trap is physical and the Sinister Portal is not a physical trap. The Sinister Portal is a new type of power trap called Shadow. To read more about the different power types, click here or scroll to near the bottom of the page.
With your newly acquired Sinister Portal, equip it and your explosive base and head on over to the Mousoleum. When you get to the Mousoleum, you need to realize that the only possible way for your to attract a mouse is if you are using Radioactive Blue cheese. So now we get into the potions; the potion has two options, you can either use Brie cheese or Super Brie. I recommend you use Brie cheese, unless you plan on donating money for Super Brie. DO NOT USE ALL THE POTIONS AT ONCE! This would be a terrible thing to do because as you go up in rank, you get more cheese for each potion. Currently, for every potion you use, you can either convert 10 Brie into 10 Radioactive Blue or 30 Super Brie into 30 Radioactive Blue. At a rank further down, you will have the chance to make 20 Brie into 20 Radioactive Blue or 55 Super Brie into 55 Radioactive Blue. The chances of you needing to use Radioactive Blue when you can convert 20 Brie into Radioactive Blue is unlikely, but not unheard of. Click here to see a chart of how many Radioactive Blue cheese you will get from each level.
So now you are in the Mousoleum and are using two or three potions at a time to maximize the benefits of the Radioactive Blue potions. Good! Just sit back and relax for a while and enjoy the money and points that are rolling in. If you think the points are good here, then the next area will blow your mind. Speaking of the next area, make sure to look out for a Lycan Mouse that is carrying a Shredded Furoma Map piece. If you happen to be unlucky and run out of Radioactive Blue cheese before getting the Lycan Mouse, I suggest you go and get more potions in the Laboratory and then spend more time in the Mousoleum.
Once you get the Shredded Furoma Map piece and have at least 305,000 coins, travel to the Great Gnarled Tree and purchase the Venus Mouse Trap - this is your first tactical trap. However, this will not be your tactical trap for long. There is a much more powerful version of the trap that you will be capable of making at the next level and it is called the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap. For now, what you should do is get the other component for the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap. The other component is Radioactive Sludge; you get Radioactive Sludge when your Radioactive Blue Cheese goes stale. The easiest way for you to get Radioactive Sludge is for you to equip your Sinister Portal and explosive base in the Great Gnarled Tree and to be using Radioactive Blue cheese. You can check to see how much Radioactive Sludge you have by going into the Inventory menu and clicking on Crafting.
Once you have 20 Radioactive Sludge, switch your trap from Sinister Portal to the Venus Mouse Trap that you bought recently and also switch your cheese from Radioactive Blue to Brie. There is only one last task left to be fulfilled as a Master and that is to catch a Fairy Mouse carrying a Lagoon map piece. If you do not catch the Fairy Mouse as a Master, no harm, just keep trying for it into the next rank of Grandmaster. Once you get to Grandmaster, take a look at my Grandmaster Guide to see what you should do. Thanks for reading!

Power Types
There are currently seven different types of trap power types (eight if you include Onyx which is currently in the making). The most common type of power type in the early game, and also the only available to you, are physical traps. If you are reading this guide and are currently a journeyman or lower, then you need not worry about any of the other power types other than physical.
The seven power types are physical, shadow, tactical, hydro, forgotten, arcane, and draconic. The power type of your trap should depend on the power type you use to try to catch it. If you are going after a tactical mouse, then you will want to use a tactical trap to catch it. The first five traps I have mentioned are the ones you will be using relatively soon, but arcane and draconic come later on.
If you use the correct type of trap against a mouse, then you will get this message: My weapon was very effective against this mouse. If you are using (for example) a shadow trap to try and catch a tactical mouse, then you will get this message: My weapon was less effective against this mouse. If you get this message, then you should consider switching your trap to a different power type.

When is the grandmaster guide coming..?
Im 98% Master and super confused. Should I pick up Zugwangs? It's terribly pricey... but i don't have the GGT map yet. :( I guess i can wait and hunt for it, but if Zugwangs is a good investment, i could buy it... opninons, pls?
I love your guide! But what is the minimum trap setup and the best powerful setup, according to your opinion?
I have the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap, and I am not sure which to chose: Dehydration base or Explosive.
Hi i read youre guide and it was awesome hehe just wondering though coz im in calm clearing and still waiting to catch a cyclops for the ggt for the venus mouse trap later. My planned setup is nvmrc dehy swiss for the lab, i was wonderin if the trap's good enough for the location.
Your guide seems to suggest that a zombie mouse in the Laboratory will drop the Tattered Mousoleum Map. This contradicts other guides which say the map dropping zombie mouse is found in Digby.
Yeah, the Tattered Mousoleum Map will be aquired in Digby... (thanks for the guide anyway)

I've gotten the shredded furoma map as a master, but now what do I do? I can't seem to go to furoma as it's for grandmasters? I have about 250k gold, and 50 RB cheese left.
