How to Make Fantastic Bread

By

Deliciousness With Every Bite

This is a very simple recipe to make with only five ingredients (one of which is water).

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 yeast package
  • and 2 (separate) warm 1 cups of water

Not the actual bread, but similar color and shape.

The Process

  1. In a large bowl: sift the bread flour, sugar, and salt together.
  2. In a separate container: mix the package of yeast with 1 cup of warm water. I used a whisk for the job, but you may use whatever utensil you like. Mix until yeast has dissolved.
  3. Now in the larger bowl, combine the two. Now mix the two of them, and do you remember the other 1 cup of warm water? This is the step where that comes in. When you first start mixing it, it will be dry, so you will need to add water to it. I suggest adding water when you need to, and in dry spots. You will know what I mean when you get into it. Also, I like to get down into the dough, so I use my hands for this step. What you should have now is a very sticky lump of dough. If you do, then you have done it correctly
  4. Next, grab a glass baking dish and cloth. If you have it, spray the dish with Pam, if not then just grease the dish. Place the dough in the dish and cover the dish with the cloth. Now put the dish with the cloth over it into the over with only the light on. This will allow the dough to rise and it should get quite a bit larger. You want to leave the dough in the oven for 2 hours.
  5. Take the dough punch it down. You can do this by pushing your fist into the center and then pulling the outside edges into the center.
  6. Take the punched down dough and cover it again in the glass baking dish and put it in the oven, with the light off, for one hour.
  7. Take out of the oven and preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. During this step you may want to melt some butter. (read step 8 before melting the butter)
  8. You have two options at this point, I only really know the first one, but I hear that the second is just as tasty ;)
  • After 30 minutes in the oven, open up the oven and brush the melted butter all over the bread. You then do this again at 45 minutes.
  • At various times, spray the dough with water.

  9. Take out of the oven and enjoy!
